The world's favorite pizza-loving superheroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, revealed a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a special panel hosted at NYCC. Is this a radical addition or simply another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you decide.
Take a look here at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including some useful context. All items listed below releases on March 6, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27th.
Before diving into the many special decks and bundles on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the set are priced at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per booster.
Let's unpack a couple of surprising details. First, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where gamers can play big creatures onto the battlefield when an attacker isn’t blocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can affect non-creature spells too. Wizards also used this chance to clean up the ability a bit (Sneak counts as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). The original ability is staying, but it's more likely players will encounter the new mechanic in upcoming expansions from now on.
“If we ever go back to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use the original ability because that's where it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” a senior designer explained. “But on other planes, because the rules are cleaner and the new ability will be Standard-legal, it's more likely that we'd use Sneak.”
That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is one of four cards with unique artwork created specifically for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator the co-creator.
Additionally, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards that aren't in your deck, so was I. But according to the developers, it’s now a legal card in every format of Magic.
In any case, below are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from this set:
Following the company’s current policy, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers say they took care to ensure the cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.
“I headed the development for 15 months and we knew it was going to be Standard-legal and which sets were going to be near it in standard,” a lead designer commented. “We designed to ensure that they work well with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”
As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet strategy focused on artifact cards.
“They combine to provide the components for a fun Standard deck,” he added.
After declining to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it includes six different legendary creatures who could work as your Commander based on how you combine them (five cards include a unique Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command zone instead of just one). Check them out for yourself:
The Turtle Power precon is priced at $69.99, although that could easily go up based on popularity. Wizards told that it includes 43 new cards in total, which translates to an additional 37 TMNT-themed game cards besides the six legendary commanders pictured above. (Calculating roughly, that also means approximately 20 reprints if we estimate the precon includes 37 lands.)
What will the TMNT version of the iconic Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and find out.
Typically, the company is offering a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and includes the following:
This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it is packaged in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Every Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and comes with the items below:
For those curious what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s essentially a reprint of an older card featuring all-new Turtle-themed art. The team revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces onto a pizza slice. In total, there are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.
This special bundle releases a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.
This unique product is designed for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. It includes:
Lastly, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to create Magic products aimed at beginners. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of prebuilt decks that allow two players team up against a “Boss” deck that plays automatically.
The general idea here that each Boss card gives special abilities to the creature cards contained in the boss deck. Each Boss automatically plays an additional card per turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
